Meet Dr. Emily Drake
Dr. Emily Drake is pleased to offer pediatric dental health care in the Kansas City area. Dr. Drake attended Wayne State College and received a Bachelors degree in Chemistry and Rural Health Studies. She earned her dental degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Dr. Drake developed expertise in pediatric dental treatment through a post-graduate pediatric residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Her hospital-based training emphasized clinical experiences in the areas of pediatric dental trauma, oral conscious sedation and taking care of children using general anesthesia. Before the residency program, she cared for patients as a general dentist at the Indian Hospital in Winnebago, Nebraska.
In 2009, Dr. Drake completed the two part exam to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Since 2008, Dr. Drake has worked in private practice.
Dr. Drake attends annual continuing education courses in order to offer her patients quality pediatric dental care. She regularly attends courses focusing on dental disease prevention, technology, materials, dental trauma and orthodontics.
Dr. Drake contributes to the community by providing dental care to children, most recently volunteering at Kansas Mission of Mercy in Kansas City, KS and Operation Breakthrough in Kansas City, MO.
Dr. Drake’s professional affiliations are the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association and the American Orthodontic Society.
Dr. Drake was married in 2010 and is the mother of a beautiful daughter. She enjoys traveling, reading, the performing arts, benefitting from the gardening and horticulture abilities of her husband, and spending time with friends and family.
